Adobe Space Monkey

It’s nice to see that Adobe has a sense of humor about the (undoubtedly rampant) piracy of their flagship product, PhotoShop. This is what appeared to my wondering eyes after transferring my (100% legitimate) copy of CS2 onto my new Snow Leopard install from my old Tiger drive:

Fine with me, except after loading, Mr. Space Monkey then quits with the advice to re-install. Clearly he is busy zapping that rubber ducky with that tractor beam, while space cat looks on in horror. Since the install disks are in Chicago, does anyone have a suggestion for a good, cheap, basic graphics app? I need to create a tiling image, do some vector stuff, and edit photos, so perhaps a combination of different apps would work best. I am aware of GIMP.

Vector editing for (gratis & libre) free is easy with InkScape! :) Everything else GIMP can handle pretty well. :/
