Modes of Vibration :: Patterns In the Sand

See the patterns that appear when sand vibrates at certain frequencies!
The patterns actually increase in complexity as the frequency increases.
Originally published in 1787 by Ernst Chladni, this illustrates a concept known as “fundamental modes of vibration.”
