Ultimate List of What Every PERSON Needs to Write Books

herocious

A comprehensive list of the things actually around me that help me write books.

Tunes – Apple iPod classic 160 GB Silver (7th Generation) NEWEST MODEL

I have ~7700 songs on this thing. I use shuffle a lot. Right now Waterloo Road by Al Billings is playing. Solo acoustic guitar that’s meant to be listened to with the volume cranked up. Al Billings is actually a TOE contributor. You can listen to Waterloo Road in its entirety here. The song has changed to Elements of Style by All Natural. The Chicago-based hip hoppers sound good coming through the Bose speaker that my sister loaned me.

Speakers – Bose SoundDock digital music system for iPod (Black)

Originally me and Bridget were planning on buying some kind of Bose docking station for our iPod. We actually settled on the exact model my sister happened to have in storage. Being the great/reasonable person she is, my sister loaned us the speaker indefinitely. Baths sure sounds better coming through this speaker. A lot better than through my netbook speaker. Besides, my netbook is for writing books.

Netbook – MSI Wind U100-279US 10-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) White

Trusty netbook, it has been with me several years now. It runs Mac OS X 10.3 Panther [OLD VERSION], which I think is cool. After using its keyboard to spell hundreds of thousands of words, the ‘w’ is the most stained key. This netbook is light and quiet. It makes music when I slip into the zone.

Eyeglasses – Brooks Brothers BB711 Eyeglasses: Color – 5229, Size 54-17-140

These aren’t the exact model of eyeglasses I use. Who cares? At the moment I don’t even have them on. They’re resting on my netbook. But they do help me see. I am myopic. I think that word does more than describe my vision. It describes my foible: near-sighted, not to be mistaken with narrow-minded.

Reading Material – Watch The Doors As They Close

If you like to read, this is a novella worth your time. I already wrote most of my review, but I still have a little more to work on before it’s ready. I’ll let you know when it’s available for mass consumption. For now, it gives my eyes something to look at when they wander from the narrative I’m building.

Printer – Brother HL-2270DW Compact Laser Printer with Wireless Networking and Duplex

This has been a reasonable printer. It has printed many reams of pages without needing any maintenance. It also looks sleek for a boxy piece of equipment. Laser is the way to go for people who write a lot.

Libation – Tito’s Vodka 80@ 1.75L

If you have the ability to think ahead, try infusing this 6-time-distilled Texas vodka with lime and jalapenos before drinking it. Of course, it doesn’t have to be infused. It’s good too with some seltzer water, slice of orange, slice of lime, and mixed well.

Food – Pinto Beans – 25 Lb Bag / Box Each

Pinto Beans are the way to go for nutrition when writing a book. They are packed with fiber and protein and antioxidants. I like them on a warmed tortilla with a sliver of cheese and tomato. Four generous servings will suffice for lunch. Pasta would seem like a perfect substitute, and it may be for you, but for me it makes me tired.

Stimulant – Cafe Bustelo Coffee Espresso, 10-Ounce Bricks (Pack of 4)

Coffee helps kick start things in the mornings. I wouldn’t drink it throughout the day though. After an iced Bustelo, staying hydrated with water will keep you nimble.

Cookware – Frieling Polished Stainless French Press, 33 to 42-Ounce

Although I like the looks and sound of percolators, they tend to oxidize. I don’t use this stainless French Press, but it seems like it would make a smooth iced coffee. If you’re curious, this is the one I use.

Bonus Item – SE 8 oz. Stainless Steel Hip Flask and Funnel

This is good to have for those long twilight walks you take with your dog. Or when you want to relax in your garden.

Plant – Brussel’s Jade Bonsai

Green energy is always good to have around you when writing books. Green energy is a reminder to take care of the other things in your life that can’t survive without your love. Just because you’re writing a book the world doesn’t stop.
