For both avid and casual boaters, Miami is the place to be from February 11th-15th. The Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail [produced by the National Marine Manufacturers Association] is coming to the Miami Beach Convention Center and Sea Isle Marina. Apart from bringing the newest in boats and accessories to Miami, the show will also be packed with seminars, exotic foods, and alcoholic refreshments. General Admission is $16, and the Sea Isle Marina is no longer free. Shucks!
Some of 2010’s highlights include:
- Chris Fischer, host of National Geographic’s Expedition Great White, will be speaking on Friday in the Big Game Room. Chris has caught and tagged more than 20 Great White sharks. I’m sure he’ll have some “Jawsy” adventures to tell.
- On Saturday and Sunday, again in the Big Game Room, the U.S. Coast Guard will host a First Mates Course. Henry Cespedes, Tom James, and Joel Aberbach will go over basic boating topics in safety and regulation, a must for responsible boaters.
- Saturday night, in the Sea Isle Marina, the Eric Stone Band will be playing live music with free pizza and beer. Get there by 6PM.
- And Saturday from noon-3PM, Sponge Bob will be walking around and taking photos with his beloved fans
