You can tell it started off as a joke, but as the tower grew taller and taller, he began to get emotionally attached to his creation. Now, he’s in over his head (quite literally) as he adds more and more to his doomed creation, never certain of which cup will be the last. Half of him never wants it to fall, and the other half wishes that it would have caved hours ago, freeing him from the torturous predicament that has beset him.
