President-In-Less-Than-24-Hours Barack Obama appeared on a local Chicago restaurant review program, Check, Please!, back in 2001 when he was a mere state senator. The show airs on our local PBS affiliate, WTTW and consists of three Chicagoans selecting, patronizing, and then reviewing area restaurants.  Obama chose Dixie Kitchen & Bait Shop, a Cajun eatery in Hyde Park on Chicago’s South Side.  I imagine they are seeing some increased business about now, and having tried their pulled pork I can say it is well deserved.

I remember Dixie Kitchen’s tomatoes. They’re full of life. Obama not only knows how to do the Heizman on dat Hoe, but he knows good food.

I can’t believe Mr. President fell for that line by the program’s host. She was just trying to get him to admit to being a liberal. “So, Barack, seems like they serve some liberal portions there. You know, that is one of the things I like about this place.” It was so effortless! I’m Barack Obama, and approve of this restaurant because it’s LIBERAL. I imagine we’ll see her contributing to Fox News very soon. She’s good.

And what does Obama order? The sampler. Typical for a politician. He wants to please everybody and avoid being limited by a particular position. Be more like dreads girl. Wash your blackened catfish down with a frosty Abita. Lead.
