A. & P. Finds Delectable Solution to Shortage in Swordfish Purchase

In scouring the market for substitutes for meat during the present shortage, the A. & P. Company has come up with one solution that is bound to be most popular with Pointers.

A quantity of swordfish, one of the most delectable of all fish, has been found in Nova Scotia and rushed to Detroit, where a goodly supply will be on sale at the Pointe’s big store on Kercheval starting today, Thursday.

The Indians of Nova Scotia call the swordfish the “Beefsteak of the Sea”, which fits nicely into the shortage picture.

Featured by restaurant fortunate enough to obtain it, and greatly sought after by fish lovers when they are in the few spots where it is available, it is quite unusual for swordfish to be sold over a butcher counter.

The line forms on the right.  Don’t push!

So, if the Indians of Nova Scotia called swordfish the Beefsteak of the Sea, who called tuna the Chicken of the Sea, and did this term fit in nicely with a shortage of chicken? These are the questions that haunt my days.
