I had the pleasure of playing two Scrabble games yesterday, the first inside, the second poolside. It has been awhile since I’ve studied a seven-letter rack, but that’s no excuse for my loss in the first game, which I recorded play-by-play.
If anyone is so inclined to work their mind and attempt to recreate the board, my opponent’s opening play, pox, saw the P on the center star square and went down:
pox / haj / wax / horrid / dime / cam / club / sinker & clubs / rut / hour /  / later / mu & ma & ut / van & la & man / land / died / vin / vine & cue / woman / stew / zoo / soy / yo / plague / ai & pa & li / life / they / heft / za / ages & at / singer / teal & et & re / plagues & so / big / goo / in & in
The remaining tiles on my rack were E, Q, R. Yes, I got stuck with the Q.
