After I saw American Beauty for the first and only time in a theater, Kevin Spacey actually came out for a Q&A, along with the rest of the cast (except for Annette Bening). He was creepy in real life. I think it’s his monotonous and slightly perverted voice. Someone asked what he thought of the movie’s suburbia homosexuality motif, and in that dry twisted voice of his he said, “I didn’t know that was a motif in the movie.”

Kevin Spacey played such an excellent part in this movie. It still creeps me out. It’s sort of like DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES for guys. And without the humor.
