William Faulkner 1952 Video :: Deep in the Heart of Oxford, Mississippi

herocious

Watching Bill Faulkner act is like watching dignity act. According to this ~15 minute documentary, Faulkner wasn’t only a great writer, he was a great person. It was important for him to be productive and kind. Writing increased his civility. I don’t know much about him. Like, I haven’t read his Wikipedia page. I’ve only read As I Lay Dying, which I liked. But even if there were stains in his personal life, Bill Faulkner tried to be the best person he could be at all times. And he was fearless because he knew that whatever he feared most, i.e. being killed, would only result in him not being afraid anymore. Of course, he says it better in his graduation speech to a class of young adults in Oxford, Mississippi.
